There’s been a regional shift in plastic surgery procedures from the West Coast to the East Coast.

And plastic surgery procedures are becoming more popular in the Southeast. That’s according to the latest data from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. It has the second-highest volume of procedures after the West Coast region. That’s because cities like Miami and Atlanta are growing hubs for the plastic surgery specialty. It also offers cost-effective options for patients.

The different regions in the United States varied in the total numbers of procedures:
- The Mountain Pacific (Region 5) saw 30 percent of total procedures, the most of any region.
- The South Atlantic (Region 3) saw the second most procedures: 25 percent.
- The East/West South Central (Region 2) saw the third most: 18 percent
- The East/North West region saw the fourth most: 15 percent.
- The New England/Middle Atlantic (Region 1) saw the least amount of procedures at 13 percent.
